Use this guide to learn how to research using the tools and resources of the Hennepin Technical College library.

Textbooks in the Library

Can I check out Textbooks from the Library?

Yes!  The library carries the majority of textbooks for the current courses offered at HTC.  See the Textbooks Search tab of the Library OnesSearch guide to learn how to find which textbooks the library has for checkout.

 

How long can I checkout a Textbook for?

You can checkout textbooks for 4 hours at a time.  You cannot take them home, but you can take them anywhere on campus.

 

What else should I know about checking out Textbooks?

  • The FIRST TIME you checkout a textbook or laptop, you must fill out an Amenity Items contract.  Make sure you have (1) your student ID and (2) a Driver's license or State ID.
  • After that, any time you checkout a textbook or laptop you must present your Student ID card.
  • The fine for late returns of textbooks or laptops is $15 per calendar day.
